RYA First Aid

It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages. It provides the perfect opportunity to gain this valuable and practical qualification.
Ideal for sailors of all kinds — including those working towards their Coastal Skipper Yachtmaster or Advanced Powerboat certification.

Congratulations to Gracie Allsopp
A huge congratulations to Gracie, who delivered a fantastic performance at the IOCA End of Season Championships held at Parkstone Yacht Club.
The event saw around 170 sailors from across the UK, with 100 in the main fleet, where Gracie secured an impressive 7th overall and was 1st Girl an outstanding result in a highly competitive national field.
This marks a brilliant finish to the season, with Gracie bringing home some well-earned trophies and recognition. A special touch to her victory the trophy she won bears the name of Hannah Mills, Olympic sailor and SailGP competitor, who was the inspiration for Gracie when she first began sailing.
Well done, Gracie a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for both her and the club!
Keelboat Sailing
Keelboats are the largest type of small sailing boats and are typically crewed by two or more people. Thanks to the weighted keel beneath the hull, they offer greater stability and are less prone to capsizing than dinghies or multihulls. This also makes them a drier and more comfortable option for learners.
While they share many of the same controls as dinghies, keelboats also include additional equipment commonly found on larger yachts, such as winches. This makes them an excellent stepping stone between small boats and cruising yachts — ideal for beginners looking to build confidence and skills.

Adult Dinghy Sailing
Learning to sail in a dinghy is a fantastic way to get started.
Single-handers — boats designed for one person — are a popular choice for beginners. They’re lightweight, easy to rig and launch, and offer a fast-track route to building confidence on the water.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can continue to grow your skills with our advanced and racing courses.
