Shanghai & Nimrod Cup 2025

Over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, the club was buzzing with activity both on and off the water as we hosted the second leg of the Shanghai & Nimrod Cup 2025.
Saturday brought varied sailing conditions, with shifting wind speeds testing the competitors’ skill and adaptability.
The Clubhouse provided the perfect setting for the prize giving, as well as a lively atmosphere for visitors and members to enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment!


Llandegfedd Dragon Series 2025

Last Saturday, May 24th, Llandegfedd Sailing Club hosted the second part of the South Wales Dragon Series. The forecast showed that it would be a cloudy day with a building wind. With the conditions in mind, the Training fleet were given their own course and were supported by the RYA CW coach throughout the day. All fleets managed to complete 5 great races.

HISC Optimist Open 2025

Magic Marine and Hayling Island hosted an Optimist Open Meeting on May 10/11th 2025. With over 100 Optimists over the 3 fleets, there was fantastic racing had by all.

Try a Youth Class

We will have access to ILCA 4 & 6, 29er, 420 and a Waszp with sailors rotating round each class in groups. We are also fortunate to have current class sailors to be able to provide top tips and share their experience with the class.

Tata Steel Dragon Series 2025

Last Saturday, May 10th, over 26 sailors took part in the first event of the South Wales Dragon Series at Tata Steel Sailing Club. The Dragon Series is a regional set of events hosted by Welsh clubs in their regions, providing sailors opportunities to race outside of their home club. For the South Wales series the clubs involved are; Tata Steel, Llandegfedd, Mumbles and Cardiff Bay. These events are supported by RYA Cymru Wales with the provision of a qualified coach in attendance to help and encourage those taking part in their first sailing event. With fantastic weather and wind, a total of 4 races were completed during the day for all the fleets.

Eric Twiname Junior Championships 2025

Hosted at Rutland Sailing Club, Ruland on 3-5th May 2025.

The Eric Twiname Junior Championships is the largest Junior Championships of the year with over 280 boats competing in the various classes. Optimists, RS Teras, Toppers, RS Fevas and ILCA 4s took to the water to take part in the event which included some new and different racing formats, with Short races being around 10 minutes long, Long races around 25 minutes long and a Marathon race aiming to be around 1 hour.
