The last competition of the year saw only 2 boats set-off after a winning cod to secure the winning £60 prize. The poor turnout being a factor of Mothering Sunday and poor weather forecasts. The Met Office was providing a forecast of F5 easterlies and an air temp of only 5degrees. At 9.30 La Paloma and Mustang Sally locked out into a lumpy sea beyond the barrage. After a short motor westwards La Paloma dropped anchor off Penarth and Mustang Sally ventured through an interesting Ranny and onto the kidney bank beyond Sully Island.
At 4.00pm both boats had returned to the club with Colin Barry being asked to weigh in a 4.05kg Thornback (c9lb) caught on squid by Harvey Preston on Mustang Sally. This was the last fish weighed in for the 14/15 season, with most skippers now planning on maintenance and overhaulbefore the start of the 15/16 season.
